Once you’ve registered to VoloLegal this guide summarises the key features that you can make use of on the site.
Creating Groups
To create groups on VoloLegal please select the VoloLegal Groups link on the main menu.
The main screen will then display a Create a Group option. Select this and then decide on a group name, the contact name, the web site address for further information and then supply a brief description of the group.
Once your group is created it will be automatically submitted to the groups listings and people can apply to join. As the administrator of the group you can approve who joins from the list of applicants that submit to join.
Now you can create private forums and use the new thread feature to hold discussion groups on what you want to talk to your group members about.
Tip: Because these are private groups you can use these to create private forums amongst colleagues and suppliers to talk about subjects that are relevant to your particular area of interest
Private Messages
Selecting send new message from the right hand menu allows you to message anyone who is a member of the site.
This feature can be used to identify new members for your group and also to contact people who are registered to the site and develop new contacts.
After selecting send new message click on the icon next to the ‘To’ option and this brings up a new box. Simply put the username details in the search box to find that person or select search which will then bring up all the site members.
Highlight the person you wish to send a message to and click select user.
Write your message as you would a regular e-mail and then send the message.
Tip: If you wish to be notified of when someone reads your message you can select Send an e-mail when the PM is read and you will be sent a confirmation message.
Public Forums
VoloLegal has already set up a selection of public forums across many different subjects covering all aspects of law, marketing and support services.
To interact in these forums simply select the desired subject and select the new thread option.
Once selected you can name your specific subject within the forum and write in your message.
Tip: As these are public forums all registered members can access them so these can be used to discuss various issues, solicit opinion or host a general discussion in line with the main forum subject.
Newsfeeds
We want VoloLegal to be your one stop shop for all things legal that is why we have started to put together a newsfeed section that will take RSS feeds from other popular law sites.
To access the feeds simply select Newsfeeds the menu and select the feed you wish to view. All the latest headlines from that feed can then be selected.
Tip: if you have a feed you would like to be featured on the site please private message Admin so we can get it placed on to the list.
Creating Blogs
Once registered and signed in to VoloLegal you will now be able to create blog entries to the site.
These are public blogs and can be created by clicking on write entry. Once the blog editor is displayed you will be able to indicate the subject and write the blog entry of your choice onto the site.
Once complete, simply click on save and your blog will be published on the site.
